NOTES FROM THE PRESS MEETING
The target for the first 10 years has been reached.
After the construction of the International Terminal of Istanbul Ataturk Airport was completed, TAV Airports, founded on 9th January 2000, has achieved its target of “10 airports in 10 years” with the addition of Skopje Alexander the Great and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airports, which it will begin operating on 1st March, 2010.
The Istanbul experience has created a new sector.
Operation of the International Terminal of Ataturk Airport was undertaken under the “Build-Operate-Transfer” model. The creation of greater value through additional operational experience laid the foundations of TAV Airports Holding. TAV, while focusing on new airports at home, also focused on expanding into other countries in the region. There was a great inheritance in North Africa, the Middle East and the Caucasus descending from the Ottoman Empire, guiding TAV Airports Holding in its expansion strategy.
