Having 74 flights weekly between Germany and Turkey, Lufthansa celebrates 55th anniversary of flying to Istanbul Atatürk Airport, at the Airport Hotel operated by TAV Airports.

Flying to Istanbul Atatürk Airport three times daily from Munich and Frankfurt Airports as well as accommodating flights to Ankara, Antalya, Izmir and Bursa, Lufthansa held a reception at the Airport Hotel at Istanbul Atatürk Airport to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Istanbul flights. Speaking at the reception, General Manager of Lufthansa Turkey Gregor Wende emphasized that they have gradually grown in Turkish market following their first flight to Istanbul on September the 12, 1956 and established a special bond with Turkey. Wende also highlighted the increasing popularity of Turkey amongst European holiday makers and Lufthansa being the first choice by passengers, offering the most suitable connections at the most attractive prices.
Lufthansa has currently 42 flights weekly from Istanbul to Munich and Frankfurt. Passengers are able to get connections with Lufthansa at European hub airports thanks to the airlines’ wide network covering a total of 211 destinations worldwide; 127 destinations in Europe only.
