Every step taken in the terminal is on TAV Earth!

Airports and terminals operated by TAV Airports constitute a living organism; with stakeholders that range from airline companies to bank branches, rent-a-car companies to restaurants, from stores to operation services, from health services to private passenger services. Fields allocated to stakeholders in terminals are established by agreement, changes are made in the fields according to needs and the agreements undergo changes over time. But what happens in the invisible part of the iceberg? How can this field traffic be managed perfectly? How can chaos be prevented? How can every step taken be followed?
TAV Earth strengthens “Corporate Memory”
Field allocations are managed by the TAV Istanbul Field Allocation and Agreements Department and TAV Operations Services. Even when only the Istanbul Atatürk Airport International Terminal is taken into consideration, there are many agreements of a great variety both operationally and on an activity basis. Additionally, many architectural changes need to be made when the need arises. The architectural office of TAV, which rapidly carries out necessary changes in projects, works with dedication to respond to demands on time. TAV Istanbul Field Allocation and Agreements Manager Dilek Gürsoy says that the architectural team endeavors to respond to demands as soon as possible, but that they have launched the TAV Earth project in order to carry out the process on a platform that can be monitored better so that projects can be updated down to their smallest detail.
TAV Earth, which includes all layers of the airport in accordance with the totality of architectural rules, presents a structure that includes customer names and customer details that were not to be found in the projects previously designed by the architectural office. With TAV Earth, which can be described as an architectural design with added intelligence, it is possible to add new designs and details, within the limits of conferred powers. The most important characteristic of the system is that all this detailed information is also available in relation to the past. With this characteristic, TAV Earth stands out as a very important platform that aims to strengthen the corporate memory of TAV.
Processes and business continuity gains momentum
Thanks to TAV Earth, processes and business continuity gain momentum. Planned to be integrated with all operational systems and business implementations, TAV Earth brings about an increase in productivity and contributes to costs, supervision and rapid reporting. Demands are conveyed to the Architectural Office via the Field Allocation Department and the Architectural Office produces the necessary design and delivers it to the Technical Team. Once the Maintenance and Repairs, Mechanics, and the Electrical and Electronics Departments of the Technical Department have completed the necessary procedures, the Architectural Office once again checks compatibility between the plan and implementation. In the last stage, the Field Allocation and Agreements Department carries out the allocation of the field.
Intelligent Search Possibilities
TAV Earth offers the possibility of searching on the basis of location numbers or customer names. Thus, when a search is conducted by customer name, all the fields allocated to that customer and up-to-date details such as the content of the agreements concerning those fields, architectural projects implemented according to the agreements and current stages can be seen. Similarly, when the search is conducted by location number, one can access all the fields, agreements and customer details related to that location.
When architectural designs produced on Map3D and AutoCAD are integrated on the Mapguide program of TAV Earth Autodesk, customers, locations and fields used all over the airport can be monitored at once. Information such as how many ticket sales, front offices and how many storage areas there are at any given moment and their intended use, as well as information on empty and full areas, can be accessed easily and isolated reports can be obtained with the click of a button.
What, Where and When via TAV Earth
TAV Earth can also provide information like an information center. Since information units can also access the system, information officers can direct customers over TAV Earth. Work is underway for the creation of road maps with appropriate content via kiosks to be open to use by customers.
