Havaş is going to cooperate with KaTron, expert company within Koç Information Group, for the establishment of a simulation center for equipment which require special training within apron. According to the project, Istanbul and Antalya Airports will be modelled and aircraft tugs and baggage tractor simulators will be prepared within this year and will proceed with new equipments during 2011 and 2012. A signing ceremony was held on 7 May 2010 for the cooperation between Havaş and KaTron.
Orientation of personnel will speed up
With this project Havaş will be able to monitor and report the practical application of theoretical knowledge received by her driver and operator personnel during initial and recurring training sessions. By transferring training which is currently being carried out by using real equipments to simulated medium several accident risks will be avoided and therefore company will make an important investment with respect to security. Owing to the training given in simulation centers, Havaş will be able to select and employ the candidate most suitable for each position and orientation of new personnel to apron circumstances will speed up. Simulators which will also be used for the training of existing personnel will enable them to practice in various environmental and meteorological circumstances and strenghten their knowledge through continuous and instant feedbacks. Owing to these simulation centers, Havaş also expects to diminish fuel and usage costs related to training.
Security will increase, costs will fall
Havaş General Manager Müjdat Yüksel said that with the simulation centers project security will increase and costs will fall. Yücel added that they aim to spread simulation method from experimental vehicle groups to all. KaTron General Manager Tarcan Kiper said that high technology they have developed within the framwork of this agreement will be established at the centers to be founded at Istanbul and Antalya airports and that Havaş will take her place among the few companies in the world having this technology; enabling her to have a well trained and qualified personnel with stonger reflexes in accident scenarios.
