ETHIAD TARGETS GROWTH IN TURKEY

Ethiad Airways, rapidly growing in order to become a global airways company which directs developments in the air transportation of the 21st century, has increased the number of its Istanbul/Abu Dhabi flights from 4 to 5 shortly after entering the Turkish market in 2009. Turkey District Manager Fatoþ Kutay expresses the company’s pride regarding its cooperation with TAV Airports and that they are enthusiastically looking forward to the development of this cooperation. Kutay further stated: “Ethiad is strengthening its position in Turkey’s tourism and business sectors every day. Economic bonds between Turkey and the United Arab Emirates are strengthening every year and we are proud to contribute to the increase of trade between the two countries. In the long run, we are planning to increase our capacity by putting wide-bodied aircraft into operation in our Istanbul Abu Dhabi flights and increasing our flights to every day of the week.”

THE SHINING STAR OF ISTANBUL: ATATURK AIRPORT

Istanbul Ataturk Airport, operated by TAV Airports Holding Co., was selected as the “Best Airport” of Southern Europe by Skytrax, an independent research company based in England. It also received the “Highly Praised Value Award” at the 16th World Route Development Forum (Routes). Finally, Ataturk Airport was also selected as the European airport with the highest increase in passenger numbers “anna.aero,” a distinguished worldwide aviation site.
QATAR AIRWAYS ADDS ANKARA TO ITS GLOBAL FLIGHT NETWORK
Qatar Airways has begun direct flights from Doha to Turkey’s capital four times per week, declaring their second flight destination in Turkey at a press meeting. It is expected that Ankara flights will support Istanbul flights and strengthen the company’s operations in Turkey. In the first Ankara flight Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker hosted Abdul Aziz Al Noaimi and a distinguished delegation, which included important media members from the Middle East. Regarding the Doha-Ankara flights, Akbar Al Baker said: “We want to stay in Ankara and increase the number of our flights from 4 to 7 per week soon.”

THE “TAV COMMUNICATIONS” DIFFERENCE AT THE PASSENGER TERMINAL EXPO

TAV Communications took part among the technology providers attracting the greatest attention at the 16th annual Passenger Terminal EXPO 2010, a conference and exposition event bringing together airport operating companies and the aviation industry held in Brussels, Belgium. TAV IT was represented in the event by a delegation consisting of TAV Communications General Manager Binnur Onaran, Software Development Manager Mehmet Fatih Berber, Project Manager Özlen Artun, Offers and Contracts Department Chief Serdar Koydemir, Systems and Telecommunications Services Data Processing Manager Ersin Inankul, Call Center and Customer Services Department Chief Maya Kolçak Güngörer and TAV Airports Holding Systems Analysis Coordinator Nazmi Hügül. TAV Communications Software Development Manager Mehmet Fatih Berber pointed out that during the three day event TAV Communications products Total Airport Management Suite (TAMS), Airport Operation Data Base (AODB), Flight Information Display system (FIDS) and Resource Management System (RMS) attracted tremendous interest.
