The TAV Gallery hosted children from around the world

The TAV Gallery is honored to host the Turkish Olympiad Exhibition, consisting of 70 photographs, between the 26th of May and 10th of June.

The TAV Gallery has organized the “Turkish Olympiad Exhibition,” consisting of photographs taken during Olympiads held in previous years. The child contestants staged a performance at the opening. 600 children from 120 countries are expected to participate this year.

The exhibition opened with folk dances native to 7 regions throughout Turkey, followed by the recitation of poems and songs in Turkish by children from Mozambique, Northern Iraq and Moldova. Children also participated in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony hosted by TAV Istanbul General Manager Kemal Ünlü and Turkish Airlines (THY) General Manager Temel Kotil.

At the opening, TAV Istanbul General Manager Kemal Ünlü said: “We are touched by the poems and songs recited in Turkish by children in their colorful national costumes from all over the world. The Turkish Olympiad is very important for the promotion of our country. We wish all the children success.”

Turkish Airlines (THY) General Manager Temel Kotil said: “Today we are hosting children from 120 countries who came to participate in the 8th annual Turkish Olympiad. Today Turkish Airlines flies to 120 destinations in 67 countries. This means that Turkish is ahead of Turkish Airlines. We are trying to improve our position.”

Colorful scenes from the Children’s Festival

TAV Gallery, a culture and arts platform at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, hosted the Children’s Festival as part of the April 23rd, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
Having hosted many exhibitions, the TAV Gallery, at the International Terminal of Ataturk Airport, hosted an entirely different activity this time. The Children’s Festival, organized as part of April 23rd, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day festivities, saw many lively and colorful scenes with the participation of child passengers at Ataturk Airport, students from Küçükçekmece Kaya Sebati Tuncay Primary School and children of TAV Group employees.

THEY PUT UP THEIR PICTURES ON CANVASES
On small desks prepared specifically for them in the play area constructed inside the TAV Gallery, the children, under teacher supervision, drew aviation and April 23rd related pictures, which they later put up on canvases inside the TAV Gallery. The children sang songs with clowns and enjoyed themselves very much with face painting and balloons. During the activities--attended by nearly 150 children--clowns and face painters walked around Atatürk Airport, making sure all child passengers had a wonderful time. Also, BTA Catering served cookies and cakes for the children. The Children’s Festival was also held at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport on Tuesday, April 20th, 2010, and at Ankara Esenboğa Airport on Wednesday, April 21st, 2010.
