t-park (TAV G)
TAV G Car Park Construction, Investment and Operations Inc. was founded jointly by TAV Construction and Günbeton, in April 2008. Founded with the aim of generating solutions for the car park and traffic problems of Istanbul, the company is not only an investment that brings profit but also a project that benefits the public. The aim is to build car parks under green areas and redundant areas belonging to the Greater Istanbul Municipality. It will therefore be possible to get rid of cars that park on pavements and by the roadside and to free up empty spaces. Remarking that the bid opened by the Greater Istanbul Municipality has been won by TAV, TAV G General manager Fatih E. Çınar says that they are currently working on 16 such projects. As an example of a completed project he points to the Emniyet Evleri Car Park. There is also construction on two car parks ongoing on Vatan Avenue.
THE AIM IS TO BUILD 200 CAR PARKS
TAV G is funded by TAV Construction for the moment, but construction and operations are carried out by TAV G. TAV G plans to build and start operating 50 car parks over the next two years and a total of 200 car parks and conducts research and development work on behalf of the Greater Istanbul Municipality. The company identifies areas that need car parks and have teams that measure circulation and traffic pressure.
TAV G has other solution projects besides underground car parks, starting with floating car parks. Built to resemble match boxes, they will be floated wherever there is a need for them. It will be possible to park inside and on them. For example a floating car park could stay in Eminönü during the daytime and be brought to Beşiktaş on nights when there are matches. And of course care will be taken that the floating car parks do not ruin the sea view.
CAR PARK / A LIVING ORGANISM
The company, officially known as TAV G, will use the name “t-park” which is simpler and more pleasant. Fatih E. Çınar says that in order to achieve better security, they have planned “t-parks” as living organisms. In other words, the car parks will also contain social and commercial areas for customers; such as dry cleaning, shoe repairs small groceries, and locksmiths, etc. “t-parks” are going to integrate with the city and with city-dwellers.

Hakan Şenkal, General Manager of Artı Exchange, says that they will open offices in the new airports to be opened by TAV and adds: “If the legislative problem can be solved, we will open a bureau in the Enfidha Airport in Tunisia. For the moment only banks have the right to change currency. We are planning to open our offices in Skopje and Riga as soon as construction is completed. When the Gazipaşa Airport comes fully into service there is a possibility we will open a branch there too. In Tbilisi the number of passengers is not sufficient, so the exchange business is taken on by the TAV Georgia Visa Bureau.”
NO COMMISSIONS AND LOW PRICES FOR TAV EMPLOYEES
Artı Exchange and its affiliates in Izmir and Ankara are an “Authorized Company,” which means that they are subject to strict auditing. They are obliged to submit monthly reports to the Central Bank and to the National Treasury. When sales exceed USD 3,000, a photocopy of the customer’s identity card is sent to the Treasury. Hakan Şenkal says that since it was founded in 2000, TAV Artı Exchange has always been among the top 10 companies paying the highest taxes at the Bakırköy Tax Office. Artı Exchange has an announcement for TAV employees: in selling foreign currency to TAV employees, the company quotes lower prices than the internet branch of banks and it also does not charge the 4% commission.
