WE STILL HAVE THE ENTHUSIASM OF THE FIRST DAY IN OUR HEARTS...
Under the umbrella of TAV Airports Holding which gave birth to a sector in Turkey on 9 January 2000, a total of 14 companies were founded; seven of which are project companies and the remaining seven service companies. A total of 10 airports; four in Turkey, two in Georgia, two in Tunisia, and two in Macedonia, are being managed by a total of seven institutions; TAV Istanbul, TAV Esenboga, TAV Izmir, TAV Gazipaşa, TAV Georgia, TAV Tunisia and TAV Macedonia. The seven service companies affiliated with TAV Airports include; TAV Private Security, Havaş, BTA Catering, ATÜ, TAV Operation Services, TAV IT and the newly established TGS (Turkish Ground Handling Services).
Success story started in Istanbul 
On 8 January 2010 Friday, TAV Airports organized a big celebration for its 10th anniversary at the International Departures Terminal of Atatürk Airport. Among the participants of the night were the employees and managers of TAV Construction, TAV Airports Holding and its subsidiaries, as well as the representatives of the aviation sector and public institutions who serve at the airports. 646 TAV Group employees who completed their 10th year were awarded plaques commemorating their service. TAV celebrated its 10th anniversary at the International Departures Terminal of Atatürk Airport on 8 January 2010, which corresponded to its date of foundation, which was January 9th. Numerous guests and press members attended the celebration party. Among the prominent names of the night were; Dr. Ali Arıduru - Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Celal Özuğur – General Manager of the General Directorate of State Airports Authority, Ercan Çakmak – Istanbul Deputy Chief of Police, Cem Kozlu-TAV Airports Holding Board Member and Sani Şener- TAV Group CEO.
“BEING WISE, WORKING HARD AND KEEPING UP WITH THE PACE”
Following the opening speech, Sani Şener presented the trailer about the Enfidha Zine El Abidine Ben Ali International Airport in Tunisia that opened recently. This trailer reflected the great success of TAV Construction and TAV Airports and attracted great admiration from the audience.
DHMI General Manager Orhan Birdal, who delivered a speech for the 10th anniversary of TAV, emphasized that TAV Airports has turned into an exemplary organization in the sector and continued as follows; “We were so proud when the TAV Group opened the International Terminal of Ataturk Airport. TAV Airports won the tender organized in 2005 for the operation of the airport for another 15 years and 6 months. After this date, the company made giants steps that acted as a precursor of its long term future. With the build-operate-transfer model, the company became the operator of the Ankara Esenboga Airport Domestic and International Terminals and the Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal, then carried its success story into the international arena. We are proud of the TAV Family, for it represents our country in the best way both in Turkey and abroad.” General Manager of Directorate General of Civil Aviation Ali Arıduru stated that during the last 10 years, Turkey has made great progress in the area of civil aviation and continued as follows; “Solid proof of this is the 10th anniversary celebrations of TAV Airports. The TAV Group has built airports in numerous countries in the world and continues to do so. Countries exist not only with their borders but also with their brands. These brands carry overseas; a country’s borders, its prestige and image. Together with TAV, we need new brands in different areas of the aviation sector. We are thankful to the TAV Family for communicating the image of a Turkish brand to the whole world. We, as a public institution, are behind all companies that strive to make Turkey’s voice permanent in international business. We are determined to open the way for them. On behalf of the 101 employees of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, I would like to express my best wishes that the 10th anniversary brings luck."
At the plaque ceremony that began with representatives of Turkish Civil Aviation organizations, TAV Group CEO Şener remarked that “The ’A team’ of Turkish Civil Aviation did a great favor by accepting our invitation to join the 10th anniversary celebrations. I am thankful to them. While writing our success story, we placed great emphasis on public and private sector partnership and we reached this point thanks to this 10 year partnership. Their experience is invaluable for us. I’d like to present to them these plaques for the service they’ve given to Turkish civil aviation in addition to this partnership.” He then awarded plaques to the General Manager of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Ali Arıduru, DHMİ General Manager Orhan Birdal, DHMİ Deputy General Manager Funda Ocak and Mehmet Ateş. PLAQUES FOR THOSE EMPLOYEES WHO COMPLETED THEIR 10TH YEAR During the ceremony, 10 personnel, on behalf of 646 TAV Group employees who completed their 10th year, were given plaques. Billboards containing the names of a total of 646 employees, 237 of which were from the TAV Group, 217 from ATÜ, 54 from BTA, 8 from Havaş and 130 from TAV Private Security, were placed at the entrance of Botanik Restaurant inside the International Terminal. CELEBRATIONS CONTINUED WTIH A PARTY … Following the plaque ceremony, DJ Ufuk played dance songs and a 10th anniversary cake was offered to guests. Managers, employees, and other guests had fun along with live music, DJ and dance performances.
TAV employees in the Capital are ready The first of the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of TAV Airports Holding was held at Ankara Esenboga International Airport on 28 December 2009. TAV Group Sani Şener--who was in Tunisia to be among the first passengers to land at Enfidha Airport and couldn’t join the celebrations--communicated his celebration message to TAV employees in Ankara by teleconference, sharing his impressions of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali International Airport. The host of the celebration night was TAV Airports Holding Corporate Communications Coordinator Bengi Vargül and following the trailer about the Enfidha Zine El Abidine Ben Ali International Airport and short speeches delivered by TAV Airports Holding Operations Director Murat Örnekol and TAV Ankara Esenboga International Airport General Manager Nuray Demirer, TAV Esenboga employees who fulfilled 10 years of service were given plaques.
In his speech, TAV Airports Holding Operations Director Murat Örnekol stated, “As a Turkish brand, we are proud to have represented our country successfully on the international level for the last 10 years. And now we are glad to be sharing this pride and joy with you in Ankara. TAV Airports is a center for creating and realizing dreams, and I believe that in the 10 years ahead, TAV airports will go beyond reaching targets we can think of today. I am so proud to be a part of the TAV Family” Nuray Demirer, who also received a plaque as an employee who completed her 10th year at TAV, emphasized how happy she was that her own career story coincided with that of TAV. She continued, “The step towards a beautiful project in Istanbul turned into a network that spread around the world in 10 years. By means of the projects we’ve completed and the terminals we’ve managed, we make Turkey’s name heard everywhere. We went beyond our targets for the first ten years. Now we are focused on the targets for the coming ten years. Our target is the stars and we will continue until we reach the stars.”
10th Year Joy of TAV Izmir Employees
The second of the 10th anniversary celebrations of TAV Airports was held at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport International Flights Terminal on 29 December 2009.
During his opening speech, TAV Group CEO Sani Şener provided information about the future of TAV Airports as well: “Don’t forget that we’ve been training you for our big projects abroad as well. Each TAV employee is a candidate to represent us abroad and take on the responsibility of continuing our success abroad. We started our first 10 years with dreams. 10 years after, we see that we’ve gone beyond our dreams. We’ve reached a very important position among the airport management companies in the world. We owe this totally to you.” TAV Izmir General Manager Erkan Balcı reminded that it’s been 3 years since the opening of Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, adding that he assembled his team into a flawless machine and that he believed that Izmir would make a great leap forward in 2010. Following the speeches, Murat Peynirci, who has been working as Baggage Control Chief at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport for the last ten years, received his plaque from TAV Group CEO Sani Şener. The celebrations continued with live music, DJ and dance performances.
TAV Family celebrating its 10th anniversary
Milestones of a success story. 
11 November 1997 TAV founded TAV is founded to build and run the International Terminal of Istanbul Atatürk Airport. 
BTA and ATÜ founded * ATÜ is founded as a common initiative of Akfen, Tepe and Unifree. After the commissioning of the new International Terminal of Istanbul Atatürk Airport in January 2000, ATÜ started to run the Duty Free shops at the terminal. * BTA, founded in order to provide catering services at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, is organized as a partnership between Bilintur, Tepe and Akfen. 
Istanbul Atatürk Airport International Terminal is opened. Istanbul Atatürk Airport International Terminal’s construction is completed and the terminal is commissioned by TAV. The terminal, instituted by means of the “build-operate-transfer” model, is commissioned in January 2000. With the additional facility opened in May 2004, passenger capacity is increased from 14 million per year to 20 million per year. 
“primeclass” CIP Service is commissioned “primeclass” a service by TAV Airports Holding that brings customized solutions at the airport, is commissioned with the goal of providing unlimited services to meet expectations for all organizations. 
Ankara Esenboga Airport’s construction and operation is realized. * The operation rights of Istanbul Atatürk Airport are extended until 2005. * BTA begins running the Istanbul International Airport Hotel. * TAV Group acquires the project for construction and running of the Domestic and International Terminal of Esenboga Airport. * TAV Esenboga Yatırım Yapım ve İşletme A.Ş. is founded. * TAV Operations Services Co. is founded. 
Izmir Adnan Menderes International Terminal and Georgia Tbilisi International Airport * TAV Group wins the tender for running the Domestic and International Terminal, Parking Lot and General Purpose Aviation Terminal of Atatürk Airport for 15.5 years. * TAV Istanbul Terminal İşletmeciliği A.Ş. is founded. * TAV acquires the right to operation of the Istanbul Atatürk Airport Domestic Terminal. * TAV purchases 60% of HAVAŞ shares. * Construction and management rights for the Izmir Adnan Menderes International Terminal are awarded to TAV. * TAV Izmir Terminal Operations Co. is founded. * TAV Bilişim Hizmetleri A.Ş. is founded. * TAV wins the tender for Tbilisi International Airport's construction in Georgia. * The new terminal of Tbilisi International Airport is opened. * Batumi International Airport is commissioned. * A refinancing agreement is signed to improve the current loan status of TAV Esenboga Yatırım Yapım ve İşletme A.Ş. * TAV Batumi Operations LLC. is founded. * TAV Airports wins the tenders for the Monastir Habib Bourguiba and Enfidha Zine El Abidine Ben Ali International Airports in Tunisia. TAV Tunisia SA is founded. * Ground laying ceremony for Enfidha Zine El Abidine Ben Ali International Airport is held. * Havaş's remaining minority shares are acquired. Skopje Alexander the Great and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle International Airports in Macedonia * TAV Airports acquires the rights to management of Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport in Tunisia. * TAV Istanbul signs a refinancing agreement to improve its loan status. * TAV Gazipaşa Yatırım, Yapım ve İşletme A.Ş. is founded for managing Antalya Gazipaşa Airport. * TAV Gazipaşa Yatırım, Yapım ve İşletme A.Ş. and DHMİ sign a lease agreement. * As part of the financing of the TAV Tunisia SA project, a loan agreement is signed. * TAV Urban Georgia LLC signs a financing agreement with IFC and EBRD. * TAV Istanbul initiates a project enabling the company to generate its own electricity and air-conditioning as part of the Trigeneration Project at Atatürk Airport. * TAV Airports wins the tender for rights to management Skopje Alexander the Great and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle International Airports in Macedonia and for construction of the Shtip Cargo Airport for which it has the optional right to management, and signs the related concession agreement. * TAV Istanbul signs an additional agreement with DHMİ as part of the Development Project for Atatürk Airport. * As a result of the tender organized by Türk Hava Yolları A.O. (THY), Havaş is selected as the 50% partner of TGS Yer Hizmetleri A.Ş.. 
TAV's door to Tunisia opened * Ankara Esenboga Airport is selected as the “Best Airport” in the “5-10 million passengers” category. * First plane lands at Antalya Gazipaşa Airport. * TAV Construction's business volume exceeds 9 billion dollars * An agreement is signed on 18 October 2009 for the sale of 35% of Havaş shares—for 180 million Euros--to the company to be founded by İş Girişim and HSBC Principal Investments. * A common initiative agreement is signed with Saudi giant Al Rajhi Holding * Enfidha Zine El Abidine Ben Ali International Airport is opened.
