The world of technology continues to astonish

A life where there are no remote controls, no chargers; where printers not only print but also erase.

  This phone is so “sweet”

Nokia, the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer, has developed a mobile phone which will put an end to the trouble of batteries and charging. This concept mobile phone, designed by Daizi Zheng, replaces the rechargeable lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries with a new generation battery powered by carbohydrates.
Coca Cola and similar sugary soft drinks may be used to power the phone. The liquid inside becomes clear, changing color as the sugar content is used up.

Prints and also erases

Japanese scientists have invented a printer that can erase the content that has been printed. According to the information published at the Russian Ruformator website, which announces the latest innovations in the field of technology, this newly developed printer is able to erase content printed on the special paper while allowing up to one thousand times printing on the same paper before it wears out. The inkless and tonerless printer, called PrePeat, enables the transfer of the script onto a heat-sensitive plastic sheet. The printer, which has “Print,” “Erase” and “Erase and Print” buttons on it, can only print in black and white for the time being.

The remote control is becoming history

The technology which will bury the remote control, computer mouse and joystick in the dusty pages of history has originated at a company called Canesta. As a result of this new technology developed by two Australian scientists, no additional devices will be required to change the channel or adjust volume while watching TV, nor to copy files on computers.

Everything will depend on a simple hand movement. A camera placed in front of the television or computer monitor follows horizontal, vertical, forward, backward and diagonal hand movements and interprets them into commands. For instance, if the user wants to turn the TV volume up, it will be enough for him to point his finger towards the TV and rotate it in a clockwise direction. The device, whose prototype was introduced by Science and Technology magazine, is planned to be on the market within three years.

Neolog watch: Same function, different form

The German Scopetime company has marked a new era in wristwatch technology. The Neolog watch, having computer DNA, displays time without mechanical parts, hands and numerals and it has been developed following 10 years of R&D. The wristwatch, designed with the inspiration of the minute markings of analog watches, is also the owner of two international design Oscars; Red Dot Design and the Good Design Award. The Neolog watch software may be downloaded onto one’s computer desktop free of charge at http://www.neolog.eu for personal use. The watch software, which can also be used as a screensaver, is available to those who wish to use it on their own websites.

Don’t throw this bottle away!

Every day millions of plastic bottles of water are consumed throughout the world. To a world already confronting the difficulties of global warming is added wastes that take hundreds of years to decompose. “Vapur” is a simple yet functional solution to this pollution.
The most significant feature of “Vapur,” which can be defined as a reusable bottle in simplest terms, is that it is collapsible. The bottle also has features such as being washable and freezable as well as portable. It is possible to inscribe descriptions on the bottle.
While this product, marketed with the catch-phrase “Our idea is very simple, yet our mission is big,” enables the user to keep water by his side at all times, it does not cause environmental pollution.
